Founding the Brightside Dream
Brightside Dental officially opened its doors in early 2022, but the story began much earlier, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before the pandemic, Dr Wilson and Dr Jeremy were both practising dentistry in separate clinics. While they enjoyed their work, they often felt that something was missing. When COVID hit, it offered a moment of reflection and clarity. Out of that realisation came the decision to build the kind of clinic they had always dreamed of – one that felt human, balanced, and genuinely patient-centred.
How It All Began
The two founders met in dental school, where they quickly became close friends. Between lectures, late-night study sessions and endless cups of coffee, they would often talk about one day creating something together, which is a clinic that felt different from the rest.
Years later, those conversations turned into reality with the birth of Brightside Dental. Their vision was simple: to build a space that feels fresh, friendly, and welcoming. To them, dentistry was never just about teeth; it was about people, trust, and comfort.
Why They Started Brightside
Both Dr Wilson and Dr Jeremy were driven by a shared frustration with how dentistry was often practised. Many clinics seemed to operate at two extremes: either fast-paced “fix-and-go” centres or “do everything or nothing” establishments.

From “The Whitening Bar” to Brightside Dental
Interestingly, Brightside was not always Brightside. The initial concept began as The Whitening Bar, focused on providing safe and affordable professional whitening services to the public. The founders then decided to change the name before opening, and Brightside Dental was born.
As the clinic grew, patients began asking for more comprehensive dental care. Within six months, the team transitioned from offering whitening alone to becoming a full-service dental practice, allowing them to serve patients in a more complete and meaningful way.
The Renovation Journey
Transforming the physical space of Brightside Dental came with its fair share of challenges. From renovation delays to unexpected costs, the process tested their patience and creativity.
Despite the obstacles, they stayed focused on their vision, which was to create a space that feels calm, inviting, and modern. Every design decision, from the lighting to the colour palette, was made with the patient experience in mind.
